COVID-19 Updates

On March 24, 2020, Montana Governor Steve Bullock issued Executive Orders closing all non-residential public schools in Montana beginning March 30 through April 10, 2020. Currently we are presenting, as required, the District’s COVID-19 Plan of Action to be approved by our local board of trustees to the Governor and the Office of Public Instruction. This plan outlines how the Miles City Public Schools plan on providing off-site learning instruction, providing school meals consistent with what the District regularly provides, providing services for students with disabilities, and providing other services customarily provided to students (counseling, library services, etc.).

Students and parents should receive direction from your respective buildings and teachers regarding the format and delivery of new instruction within the next few days. If you have questions, please contact your individual schools or individual teachers for specific direction. Our plan is to provide new instruction for the next two weeks through a blended learning approach (depending on which format is better suited to individual learner needs). This blended approach is a combination of on-line or electronic formats, combined with hard copy packets, phone conferencing, and video chatting. Please let individual teachers know the specific needs of your child as we progress. All teachers will be available for questions (through email, phone or video chatting) each day between 7:45 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Please allow for delays in response as needed to answer all questions.

The Miles City Unified School District appreciates your patience, understanding and cooperation. We are so appreciative of your continued support and encouragement. Together we will make a great team and do the best that we can for each and every student. Thank you for working with us.

Meals can be still be picked up at the Washington Middle School gym entrance from 7:30 to 8:30 am and 12:00 to 1:00 pm. The school district will be handing out meals through our school lunch truck at the following locations and times: the truck will be parked at the Light House Church on 3300 Horizon Parkway from 9:00 to 9:45 am, the truck will be parked at Jefferson School from 10:00 to 10:45 am, and the truck will be parked at Garfield School from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Children 18 years of age and younger must be present to receive meals.
